Epilepsy condition is a neurological disorder affecting around 65 million of people worldwide. More than 1 million people are affected with Epilepsy in India every year. Epilepsy is the 4th most common neurological disorder. Epilepsy conditions are where the nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disrupts and causes seizures. Epilepsy can occur at any age and it can be difficult to identify the specific reason behind the causes of the condition. Epilepsy is not a contagious diseases and cannot be caught by coming into contact with the person who is suffering from the condition. People suffering from epilepsy condition on an average have the same level of intelligence as compared to a normal person. Epilepsy does not cause any lower intelligence. Majority cases of the epileptic seizures are controlled by medication.
